Animal Care And Control

Marshall County Animal Care and Control is a county run facility that takes in surrendered dogs and cats. There is a $20 fee (per animal) to either surrender an animal or reclaim your lost pet.

Pets are available for adoption weekdays at the shelter. We also have adoption events at Petsmart in Paducah, KY every second Saturday from 10:00-3:00.

We have a very good foster/volunteer program, we take volunteers Monday-Friday. Volunteering involves anything from bathing, grooming, walking, playing with and cleaning up after the cats and dogs. Our foster program involves working with a dog/dogs that need to be socialized, nursing females, animals that are recovering from surgery, and puppies or kittens that are on a hold. Please contact us if you would like to be involved.

Bark in the Park is our annual fundraising event. Bring the family (and of course the family dog) and participate in various events such as contests for best trick, costume contests, pet/owner look alike contests and much more.

As in so many of our communities, Marshall County is heavily overpopulated with cats and dogs. Please remember, if you are going to own a pet, have them spayed or neutered.
Also, lots of animals roam off their property and the fastest way to get them home is to microchip. Microchipping is a service we offer at the shelter for a $10 fee.
